Gennaro and Mauro share a one-bedroom apartment between three people, converting the living room and storage room into two extra bedrooms. Not sharing a house is not an available financial option for any one of the tenants.
Both of them imagined that after securing a university degree and a stable job, they would reach their thirties with the option of moving in to their own home. Today, Gennaro feels privileged to pay less than €500 for a bedroom in Lisbon, and Mauro believes that their condition would remain the same even if they moved futher out to the outskirts of Lisbon.
